Our Story So Far

The Wright Company is an evolving story.

Set up by Lawrence Wright the son of Richard John Wright a Senior Architect for Pell Frischmann Projects Limited and Public Services Agency which was privatised and sold by a previous government. Richard John Wright designed and managed multi million pound projects for the UK Govt., Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Defence - the RAF, the Navy, Royal Marines. Richard's Uncle Reginald Cairns Shaw was awarded an MBE in 1957 by the late Queen Elizabeth II for his services to cycling safety.

Lawrence trained as a plumbing and heating engineer at The Plumbing Academy in Edenbridge in Kent, passed the technical certificates and gained NVQ 2 and NVQ 3 in plumbing and heating, he then set up The Wright Company PHPS Ltd.

Lawrence then designed and built a self-build 2 bed house in SE London, the building passed building control and warranty inspection. The warranty inspection certificate lasted for ten years with no claim against the warranty.  The 2 build house has been designed to blend into the street scene, with pebble dash external walls, pvc double glazed windows, Eternit slate roof, and his own builders motif.

Lawrence then became Gas Safe qualified and fitted well in excess of 50 boilers either through his company or as part of a team working for other Plumbing and Heating Engineers.

Lawrence then set up a building company,  Bright New Homes Ltd and converted a fire damaged mixed commercial property on the south coast creating a five storey development, encompassing a retail unit and six bed, all ensuite HMO which has now provided accommodation for six nurses, and the property is no longer a boarded up eyesore on the high street and is back to being a functioning part of the community. The build adheres to conservation standards, with natural slate roof, a replaced chimney pot shipped down from Newcastle, Rehau sliding sash windows, and lead roof over the bay window, installed the same way the Georgians did when the property was built.

He then set up a property development company Bright New Homes Investments  and has refurbished properties from the Midlands to the South Coast. The homes are mixture of private rent and social housing.

Lawrence is a proud Affiliate Member of Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers.

The Wright Company is still evolving and you can be part of the journey.
